Saint Apostle Thomas

Orthodox tradition says that after the Pentecost Saint apostle Thomas travelled to the east, preaching and spreading Gospel. He reached India, where he was executed and his burial place preserved to our days.

St. Thomas is a patron saint of builders, architects and engineers, carpenters and stonecutters.

This icon was for the child, so in the medallion is Christ Emmanuel (Christ while his childhood) depicted. On the margins are patron saints of parents and godparents.
